Senior Software Engineer, Digital Channels
DNA Digital Channels is responsible for building and running customer‑facing digital services such as dna.fi, online sales, and self‑service for both B2C and B2B. These services are business‑critical and require continuous development with high standards for quality, reliability, security, and maintainability.
AI is becoming a concrete part of how we build software, supporting development, testing, analysis, and increasingly more agentic workflows. At DNA, the goal is not experimentation for its own sake but bringing AI into real production software in a controlled and responsible way.
We are now looking for multiple software engineers with strong AI capabilities for both our B2B and B2C Digital Channels. You will have a clear mandate to design, implement, and own AI‑assisted and agentic solutions that improve development efficiency, product quality and, of course, user experience. This role is hands‑on and delivery‑oriented: you will take ideas from concept to production and ensure they are adopted, operated, and evolved over time. You’ll work with other developers, architects, and product teams, with the authority to influence technical direction and establish patterns that are used across teams.
The position is based in Helsinki, but you can work remotely from anywhere in Finland in line with our flexible work concept. We value face‑to‑face collaboration and regularly bring the team together for in‑person planning days, as working side‑by‑side helps us maintain a strong team spirit and supports fast‑paced, AI‑powered development.
What you’ll do
Based on your experience and capabilities, you will have ownership of selected AI‑assisted and agentic capabilities from technical design and implementation to production rollout and long‑term evolution. The expectation is not proof‑of‑concepts, but solutions that software development relies on.
You will:
Design, build, and evolve AI‑assisted capabilities in our development workflows and customer‑facing services
Help teams adopt agentic engineering practices in a controlled and production‑ready way (repeatability, safety, human-in-the-loop)
Develop and integrate AI components into modern software systems (APIs, microservices, pipelines)
Collaborate with developers, architects, designers, and business owners to apply AI where it creates real customer or engineering value
Ensure AI usage meets high standards for security, quality, privacy, and explainability
Contribute to shared guidance, examples, and technical patterns around AI‑enabled development at DNA
What we’re looking for
We’re intentionally not looking for a single “perfect profile”, but typically you bring many of these:
Strong engineering foundation
Experience as a software developer (frontend, backend, or full‑stack)
Solid understanding of modern web architectures (microservices, APIs, cloud)
Production mindset: testing, observability, CI/CD, maintainability
AI & agentic mindset
Hands‑on experience using AI in software development (e.g. LLMs, copilots, agents, automation)
Ability to reason about where AI helps, and where it doesn’t
Interest in agentic workflows, delegation models, and human oversight
Tech environment familiarity (not all required)
Frontend: React, TypeScript, modern JS frameworks
Backend: Node.js, Spring Boot, APIs (REST / GraphQL), microservices
Cloud & platform: AWS, containers, CI/CD pipelines
AI tooling: LLM APIs, prompt design, evaluation, orchestration frameworks
Ways of working
Comfortable working in cross‑functional teams
Curious, reflective, and willing to evolve your own way of working
Communicates clearly in English (Finnish is a plus, not a must)
This position requires an approved statement of security clearance.
Why you should apply
You get to shape how AI is used, not just talked about
You work on real, large‑scale digital services, not toy demos
You help move teams toward agentic development with guardrails, not hype
You influence both engineering practices and customer experience
You work in an environment that values speed and safety
